Mastering Oracle SQL (ebook)

Few books on the market today go beyond discussing syntax and the barest rudiments of using Oracle SQL. This book changes that. The authors cover the full range of Oracle SQL features that apply to query writing. Learn to write UNION queries that take full advantage of SQL's set orientation, and ways to use Oracle's new analytic SQL features to write ranking queries, lag and lead queries, and more.

ISBN 978-1-847195-74-6

Competing in today's world requires a greater emphasis on strategy, long-range planning, and decision making, and this is why businesses are building data warehouses. Data warehouses are becoming more and more common as businesses have realized the need to mine the information that is stored in electronic form. Data warehouses provide valuable insight into the operation of a business and how best to improve it. Organizations need to monitor these processes, defne policy, and at a more strategic level, defne the visions and goals that will move the company forward in the future. If you are new to data warehousing in general, and to Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) in particular, and need a way to get started, the Oracle Warehouse Builder is a great application to use to build your warehouse. The Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) is a tool provided by Oracle that can be used at every stage of the implementation of a data warehouse right from the initial design and creation of the table structure to ETL and data-quality auditing.

SQL Server Security Distilled, Second Edition (ebook)

by Morris Lewis
Apress © 2004 (352 pages)

SQL Server is the dominant relational database in the Windows market and data security is a huge and growing concern for all businesses. Securing SQL Server is one of the most important responsibilities of the SQL Server professional. SQL Server Distilled, Second Edition is a very carefully researched, clearly explained book on securing SQL Server, by an author who knows SQL Server inside and out. If you follow the practical guidelines that are clearly set out in this book, then you stand a very good chance of making sure that the data stored in your database is secure and that the conversation between your applications and the database is secure (preventing SQL injection attacks, etc.). For example, any DBA who implemented the security precautions detailed in the book would not have been affected by the infamous Slammer virus. This second edition offers practical advice on how to implement good practices that will ward off future viruses before they are even created, and it contains new content that reflects all updates to SQL Server's security mechanisms.

Troubleshooting Oracle Performance (ebook)

Excellent book that I'd highly recommend for Oracle DBAs concerned with Oracle SQL optimization and performance. Straight forward and easy to understand with excellent detailed and practice examples and in depth research into options and functionality. Its the best general purpose book I know of for insuring good SQL optimization through object statistics, installation parameters and advanced features such as sql baselines.

Konsep Dasar Basis Data (pdf)

Pentingnya Data dalam Sistem Informasi

Konsep Dasar Basis Data

Functional dependencies - FD & Key (pdf)

Pada file Pdf ini berisikan materi tentang :
  1. Decompotition
  2. Key
  3. Normalization
Masalah Anomali :
  • Deletion anomalies: Kehilangan informasi akibat penghapusan informasi.

pertanyaan-pertanyaan sbb:
- apakah table anda bagus ?

-  Menghindari data redundancy
-  Menhindari update anomaly
-   Menggambarkan data redundancy
-  Bagaimana cara menggunakan functional dependency
-  Bgaimana megkarakteristikan kualitas skema
-  Mendapatkan Bentuk normal

  • Lossless Join Decomposition
  • No Redundancy
  • Dependecy Preservation (Terjaminya pemeliharaan ketergantungan, utk mengatasi update Anomali)
